Club Continental Wedding (Orange Park, FL) Kat & James Wedding Blog

Imagine your ceremony taking place under a 300 year old Live Oak Tree draped in Spanish Moss and against the backdrop of the serene St.Johns River. Thats exactly what Kat & James did! Nestled in Orange Park, FL the Club Continental was built in 1923 as a winter home to Caleb Johnson, heir to the Palmolive Soap Company.

Walking up to the historic Mediterranean style mansion covered in flowering hibiscus trees, sweeping green lawns, flower beds and gurgling fountains, I was just immediately taken away by its beauty. I remember taking a deep breathe of the fresh air when we arrived and I said "Yes, this is a perfect day to get married".

As we climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor we could hear the buzz of bridesmaids getting ready in a super cute tower suite. It actually felt like a hidden princess tower. All the girls were in their matching robes with their hair and makeup done to perfection. I hugged Kat and was so excited to see her! Moments after I was introduced to all NINE of her sweet bridesmaids, I just knew it was going to be a good day!

The dear team with Southern Charm Events made the day run so smoothly. As I am typing this, I'm thinking back on the whole day and I have to say that one of my favorite moments were between Kat and her dad. Kat shared a first look with her dad and there were tears. She gave her dad a loving gift that you could tell would be treasured forever.

Kat & James shared a quick touch around the corner without seeing each other and whispered words of love and excitement just before it was time to get married. Before we knew it they were standing hand in hand on the edge of a beautiful outdoor patio sharing their "I Do's" and sealing their union with a fluttering butterfly release.

Its always so meaningful when couples trust us to fly from Texas and be a part of their wedding day in another state. We were honored to have been able to capture this beautiful wedding and I can't wait to share this post with them so that they can enjoy their wedding day all over again!!!
