The Nest at Ruth Farms Wedding | Alexandra & Candido the Blog

My first experience with Alex & Candido was just after we had moved to our new neighborhood in west Frisco. I was exploring my surroundings and had stumbled upon a trail by Lake Lewisville that looked really promising for future sessions. Since Alex & Candido were up for anything I recommended we give this location a try.

The trail was a beautiful backdrop but also private so it was a great way to get to know these two. I barely had to do my job that day because they were total pros in front of my camera, and were naturally photogenic. I just love when that happens. Just before our session ended they surprised me with their adorable pet cat and this was the first time I had worked with a cat on an engagement session and I really hope its not my last.

Dear future clients, you may bring me all the animals you want to your sessions with me... seriously! I love them all!

When the big day finally arrived we started at their family church and went right into the Ceremony. It was a different way to begin our day as we usually arrive in the morning and work our way up to the Ceremony. In this case they were married right from the beginning and we were able to spend the rest of the day just focused on taking great photos and video without the countdown of a pending Ceremony. It was pretty nice, I must say!

This was our first time at The Nest Venue and I had my eye on this place since the moment I first heard of it. Its a stunning white barn with beautiful light from all the windows and the perfect blank canvas to make any wedding vision come true. I walked in the foyer and was surrounded by photos from their engagement session including my favorites with their adorable cat.

I was already one happy photographer at this moment and then in walks a miniature donkey to help serve beer to their guests....STOP IT! I couldn't control the excited squeal that came from my mouth when this little guy came walking up to the venue. You better believe we took photos with him and I may or may not have been secretly plotting ways to bring him home with me. I was not joking about my love for all things animal related.

The reception was filled with live music, delicious food, cake and plenty of dances/traditions. We had so much fun and really enjoyed our time spent capturing this wedding day. Not to mention all of the vendors that put this wedding together were so many of my absolute favorites. Working with a great team makes a huge difference and goes a long way into creating those lasting memories. I am so excited to share these photos and allow everyone to relive such a fun day.

Alex and Candido we wish you both many many years of love and happiness. Congrats and thank you for having us be a part of your big day...
